Royal Navy make a donation to (little steps) Major Movements.

The charity (little steps) Major Movements was established in 2019 and provides support to young children who have lost a parent either to suicide or sudden death.

Leanne Eastwell is the driving force behind the charity and explained that there is no local authority or government funded support for very young children suffering such a loss, this assistance is not provided until the child in question has reached the age of 11. Major Movements was created to offer the opportunity for young children and their families / guardians to get together and share a sense of connection and to offer mutual support.

The children participate in play therapy and Royal Navy’s donation will help towards providing experienced counsellors to join the children within these play sessions.

Since lockdown has been lifted the children have enjoyed Arts & Craft days, Easter egg hunts, Beach days, a Halloween party, a Christmas Steam Train ride to meet Santa, and a trip to Legoland.

Royal Navy are delighted to support Leanne and Major Movements and would encourage others to do the same.
