July say the annual Outhwaite Golf tournament held on the Northcliffe Course at North Foreland
The trophy was conceived after the sad loss of one of Royal Navy Lodge’s past masters, Peter Outhwaite who was taken far to early. The naming of the trophy is also significant of Peters father, Jason who was also a part master and very active member of the lodge until his passing at over 90 years old.
24 golfers took to the fairways which included a number of guests and friends of the lodge. Also, making their debut as members were Roger Seward, Andy Crowhurst, Rob Carroll & John Salkeld.
The day started with a warm up lesson kindly donated by the Callum Piper, a PGA professional from the club. This included a short lesson on driving, chipping and putting.
The draw was made and the first tee full of anticipation as the competition commenced.
The day was followed with a meal hosted in the lighthouse Brasserie at North foreland where we were joined by a number of evening guests.
Peter Dickenson, (Kingsgate Lodge). Having been a runner up on two previous occasions, finally clinched the main prize with a score of Nett 50. Beating our very own Worshipful Master, Nigel Mann into second place. (Nett 52)
Also in the prizes were Dean Lowden as best Guest (nett 50) and Sheena Webb, guest runner up. (nett 52).

Peter Jenkins & Roger Seward won the nearest the pin prizes on the 5th & 16th Holes and Paul McGuirk was awarded a prize for the worst tee shot. (Out of bounds on the 1st hole!)

The event raised £500 which will be donated to the Cornwallis East Kent Freemasons Charity.
