Meet Brother Gary, our first new initiate for 2025.
Gary first registered his interest through the www.justaskone.org portal and was duly passed to a Membership Advisor from his home town in Margate. But having established that Gary had served in HM Royal Navy for ten years, it was quickly realised that there was only one Masonic home for him.
Whilst the name of our Lodge suggests a obvious Naval connection, there is no evidence in our 190 year history to suggest that such a relationship ever existed. This however, has not stopped the Lodge from attracting many members that have served in both the Royal and Merchant Navy’s, as well as submariners, Navy divers, and many social boat owners and sailors.
Gary has served on many of our Naval Frigates, was stationed in the South Atlantic during the Falkands conflict, and was duly decorated for his service. He strongly maintains his connections with other serving Sailors and veterans and we trust that in joining Royal Navy Lodge he will not only meet members from a similar background, but will similarly play a valuable and active part in all of our social and charity events.
We now welcome Gary to Royal Navy 429 and look forward to helping him through his next two degrees.
